Pick Yourself Up

Transcribed from Neal Hefti's outstanding chart written for Sinatra's 1962 album "Sinatra and Swingin' Brass", this chart is a fast-paced, high energy, hard-swinging beauty. We have notated the vocal chart "as sung" by Mr Sinatra on the album track, and have treated the Bass part in similar fashion. To reference this transcription we have used both the final version of the recording that was released on the album and the original studio masters, in order to create a transcription that is a true relfection of Neal Hefti's original intent. Interestingly, although the song itself was composed by Kern in the key of F, Hefti's original chart was in E which, as many instrumentalists will be quick to point out, can be a bit tricky to play. So, to make life a little easier all round, we have printed all of the parts double sided, with the reverse of the parts taken down a half step to the friendlier key of Eb. There are no sax doubles.
