One of Woody Herman's less well known works, La Cucaracha is nevertheless a great latin arrangement by Billy May which develops this simple tune into a fine chart. The reeds are scored for CTTTB, but we have included an optional Alto part to be played in lieu of the second Tenor, giving you a CTATB section. Being a Herman chart, the solo spots are all for Clarinet, and the sectional band writing is supportive of the soloist and blastingly powerful in the tutti sections.
