Joe Loss big band charts

A range of big band arrangements made famous by Joe Loss and his orchestra.

Who was Joe Loss?

Born Joshua Alexander Loss, he was a British musician and band leader who led his band from the early 1930's until the late 1980's. From the pre-war dance band era right through to the start of punk rock, Joe's band was always in work. Following Joe's death in 1990 his band continues to perform under the leadership of Todd Miller. The band, whilst arguably not a swing band or jazz orchestra in the American style, was characterised by exceptional musicianship, thoroughly disciplined playing and immaculate performance.

Which of his more famous charts might you know?

Loss' prolific output makes it hard to pick out highlights from such a long and illustrious playing career. We have selected a few, including "Tea For Two", "Moonlight and Roses" and "You're The Cream In My Coffee". We will be looking to add more arrangements from the Joe Loss Orchestra over time.
